Imari Tones to Launch "Best Of" Album, Highlighting Two Decades of Christian Metal

Established in 2004 and transforming into a Christian-focused band in 2008, Imari Tones blends Japanese cultural motifs, Christian themes, and heavy metal. Despite Japan's predominantly Buddhist population, the band has garnered international acclaim and maintains a devoted global following.

Imari Tones, the venerated Japanese heavy metal ensemble, unveiled their anticipated "best of" compilation album, titled "That Christian Metal Band From Japan - The Best of Imari Tones," on June 21, 2024.

Established as trailblazers of Christian metal within Japan, a country deeply rooted in Buddhism, Imari Tones traces its origins back to 2004. Undergoing a transformative shift in 2008, the band embraced a Christian thematic direction, dedicating their musical endeavors to the glorification of Jesus Christ. Since then, Imari Tones has garnered international acclaim for seamlessly blending Japanese cultural motifs, Christian principles, and the fervor of metal music into a uniquely resonant auditory experience.

Despite the modest Christian demographic in Japan, comprising approximately 1% of the population, Imari Tones has emerged as a distinctive cultural and musical force, boasting a dedicated global fan base. While the band has collaborated with esteemed producers in the past, their journey has largely been characterized by an independent spirit in music production.

The forthcoming "Best Of" album not only showcases Imari Tones' musical evolution but also underscores their commitment to presenting aficionados with a curated selection of their most seminal compositions. This release serves both as an introduction for new listeners and a cherished anthology for long-standing supporters.

The compilation draws from their extensive discography, featuring contributions from acclaimed German heavy metal producer Sascha Paeth, tracks from their seminal Christian-themed debut "Victory In Christ," and the conceptual masterpiece "Jesus Wind," delving into Japanese Christian history. Notably, the album introduces a new track titled "Words of Grace," a collaborative effort between the band and a devoted Imari Tones enthusiast who is also a Christian YouTuber.

Imari Tones' musical style pays homage to the raw, unadulterated essence of 1980s heavy metal while incorporating elements of progressive rock, alternative rock, and Japanese pop, resulting in a distinctive sonic identity that transcends conventional genre boundaries.

In conjunction with the album's release, Imari Tones will embark on their sixth tour of the United States, marking a significant milestone in their international touring career. Despite its independent scale, the tour promises to generate enthusiastic anticipation among fans, particularly in the Southern region, with a notable focus on Texas—a place of personal significance for band members Tak and Marie, where their Christian musical journey began with their baptism.

To coincide with the album release, the band will embark on their sixth U.S. tour, focusing on the Southern region, including Texas, where their Christian journey began. The tour schedule is as follows:
